While I was looking around on Facebook last night, the picture below came across my timeline. It perfectly sums up what I have been thinking for a long time now.
This is the reality of teaching today. If you don’t believe what Sparkles.Pencils.And.Plans has written, you are part of the problem.
After reading this and you continue to question the teaching methods or discipline measures that your child’s teacher implements, you are part of the problem.
If you speak badly about your child’s teacher in front of him or her, you are part of the problem.
If you make excuses for your child’s negative behaviour or lack of academic progress, you are part of the problem.
If you choose not to take an active part in your child’s education, you are a part of the problem.
If you have posted something negative about your child’s teacher or school on social media, you are part of the problem.
Teachers have enough problems to deal with in our classroom. We need you, the parents, to become part of the SOLUTION. With teachers across the country striking and others that are using mobilization tactics to bring awareness to the peril that our schools are in, I challenge you to reflect upon this post and ask yourself this question – Am I part of the problem or am I part of the solution?
Have a great day.
