I wish I could say that setting up my classroom is easy for me. You would think that after 19 years in the classroom, I would be able to do it with ease. But in reality… it isn’t. It really isn’t. It takes me an incredible amount of time searching on Pinterest and visiting various Dollar Stores to find the right theme, colour, or trendy idea to go along with. I keep my classroom decor for 2 years (because of aforementioned difficulty) … so I have to make sure that I get it right!
My family and I spent the past summer camping in Eastern Canada, Quebec, and the United States. We enjoyed every minute of it and I decided that a nice, rustic theme would look great in my classroom. After all, I have a wall full of large windows and two skylights that let in a lot of natural light and the view from those windows look out onto the “forest” that occupies our playground area. As well, the rustic theme is pretty trendy right now and it is easy to find accessories to go with it!
So, without further ado, here is my classroom reveal!
I chose to use the Industrial Chic Farmhouse Style Classroom Decor Bundle by Schoolgirl Style. When it comes to beautiful, editable, co-ordinating decor, Melanie Ralbusky is the best in the business! Click HERE to see the bundle!
She even has co-ordinating tags that go perfectly with the cubby area for my students!
I love my VIP wall and all that it stands for! It is a simplistic way to keep track of classroom jobs and promote responsibility! You can read all about it HERE and you can grab your own copy of the VIP Classroom Management Technique HERE.
I am super excited to try some new programs in my math class this year! I will be using Amy Lemons & Hope King’s Magic of Math with my students this year. You can find the program HERE. For Guided Math, I will be using Mrs. Beattie’s Classroom’s Guided Math Centers for the Year. You can grab that bundle HERE.
And there you have it! I love how my room turned out! If you are wondering about the “wood”, it is a fadeless paper that I found at Michael’s Craft store and it totally complements Schoolgirl Style’s decor!
Have a great day!
