There is a wonderful linky party going on in the teacher blogger world! It’s hosted by Art with Jenny and I think it is a brilliant idea – and I have been itching to link up for weeks now!!
Jenny wants to know the story behind our teacher logos that are visible all over the our blogs, Facebook pages, Instagram, Pinterest and TpT stores. I have all of these social media sites and each of them have their own logo (or picture) that goes with them. And Jenny is right – each of them have their own story.
Here are mine…
These are my official logos for my blog, TpT Store, and the Facebook page for I Heart Grade 3.
Last July, I attended the TpT Conference in Las Vegas. I went to workshops that taught me how to build quality curriculum products, how to market them, and how to make my mark in the blogging world. One of the most important things I learned was that I needed to associate myself and my products with an image that people would recognize .
I came home from the conference full of energy and inspiration! I decided to give myself a blog makeover and take the blogging world by storm with my newly designed page. I was excited! I was passionate about it! I was positive that I could do it! And I was sooooo wrong! Oh dear! I had no idea what I was getting myself into! I tried, and tried, and tried to come up with a cute little design but working with HTML code is not my forté.
So, I took the plunge and found a design team in the US to create a blog and logo that says “I’m Miss Monica and I love Grade 3!!!”. Thanks to the team at The Cutest Blog on the Block, I now have a gorgeous blog that I can call my own and a logo that everyone can associate me with my blog and curriculum products!
This is my Instagram account profile picture.
Believe it or not, this picture was taken in October of 2011! It was taken on a beautiful fall day at a pumpkin patch near our home. My family and I, along with some of my closest friends, took our children to go pumpkin picking together. This shot was taken by my daughter and you can see her behind the camera lens in the reflection of my sunglasses.
This picture is one of my all-time favourites. I love the colour, I love to see my daughter in my glasses, and I love that you can see just how many freckles I have on my face! My freckles are my best feature and I LOVE them! As they say, a girl without freckles is like a night sky without stars!
This picture is the one that you will find on my Pinterest account. The story behind this one is quite cute! This picture was taken on February 13, 2013 and the reason that I remember the exact date is because it was taken the day before Valentine’s Day. We decided to celebrate the evening before because, with us being parents of 3 very busy children, we were unable to go out for dinner together on the 14th – my eldest daughter had to work, my youngest daughter had figure skating lessons, and my husband had his weekly hockey game. Once again, my talented daughter took this picture of us… she definitely has a great eye when it comes to getting good shots of me!
So there you have it! A little bit of information about me and all the little stories that go along with the pictures that I have used over my social media accounts. And just to add a little extra, here is my most recent Facebook profile picture. With my eldest now living and working in Toronto, it is getting more and more difficult to have a family photo. Thank goodness for holidays where we can all be together again!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
