Hi everyone! I am a little late with the posting so let’s get this week’s link-up underway!
The year: 2010
Age: 33
The summer of 2010 was quite busy for me. As some of you already know, my family consists of 5 and all of our birthdays are in the summer. I begin with July, then my daughter, husband, and son are in August, and then my youngest daughter has her birthday in September. So, I spent most of the time planning birthday parties.
In addition to party planning, my family and I, along with all of my husband’s family, planned a week long vacation to Walt Disney World in Florida. In total, 11 people went to Disney. My son was only 1 at the time and still in diapers! It was not my first time at Disney World, but it was for my 2 youngest so getting to share in their excitement of being at Disney for the first time was a pretty amazing.
Here are 2 of the 3 August birthday’s celebrating at Cinderella’s Palace.
Unfortunately, I am not one who can stomach most rides so my eldest and my husband took off to do all the “big” rides while I roamed around with the two little ones. Boy oh boy was I so glad that I did! I got to meet my FAVOURITE Disney character of all time… Mary Poppins!
What a delight! I was in awe and had a total fan moment! She IS practically perfect in every way! I did not have a chance to see her during my first trip to Disney so this random spotting of her was the highlight of my trip.
Are you ready to share what you were up to 5 years ago? Join in the linky and fill me in!

Love your pics of Disney! We are off to Florida end of August I can’t wait !

Hi Nikki!
You will absolutely love Disney World! I am sure that so many upgrades and changes have already been made to make the Disney experience out of this world. Here are a few tricks we learned… 1. Always ask a cast member for stickers. They will be more than happy to give you a whole bunch. I came home with so many that I gave them out to my students. 2. If there are no stickers, they will find something else to give you. For example, at a restaurant, my daughter asked her server for stickers and she didn’t have any but she brought her a Mickey Mouse ears bendy straw. 3. If you are ordering pasta, you can always ask the server to exchange the regular pasta for Mickey Mouse ears pasta!. 4. Drink the frozen lemonade! It is delicious and it feels so good during a hot Florida day! 5. If you are an autograph hound, I suggest that you have your page and pen ready whenever you meet a character. Also, have them write on the right hand side of the page – and then when you return from your trip you can use the left hand side to scrapbook in a picture of you with that character. It makes for a great keepsake!
Oh! I wish I could go with you!!! Have fun!

I LOVE Disney! My husband and I are going at the end of this month to celebrate our anniversary (which was yesterday!) and him finishing studying/taking the Bar exam! Your post made me so excited to go 🙂

Happy Anniversary!
I would so love to return to Disney with JUST my husband! 2 years ago we went to Disneyland in California with the children and we had such a great time. We are planning to do the Disney Cruise this Spring Break but again with the kiddies. I am thinking an adults only Disney vacation is due!
Wish you husband luck on his Bar exam. My husband is a prosecutor (District Attorney in the states, I think)! What side of the law does he want to practice?
Thanks for stopping by!

Ooh, enjoy your Disney cruise! We’v been to the parks a lot, but never done a cruise!!
You are too sweet, thank you for wishing him luck! What a small world- another teacher/lawyer couple 🙂 Tyler is more interested in the contract side of law rather than litigation. He likes real estate and business law, so fingers crossed he passes the bar and get’s a job!

Hi Emily,
I am HOPING to enjoy it – we still haven’t gotten around to booking it and I am worried that our dates might already be all booked up. I better get on that… like tonight!

That’s sound like fun! Can I participate on the linky?
I Heart Grade 3 says
Hi Oxana!
Of course you can participate! This little linky party of mine is for all bloggers of all kinds to continue their blogging efforts during the summer. I have tried to make most of the weekly topics as generic as possible so that even if you are not an educational blogger you can still participate.
Whenever you are ready you can join in on the fun! There is no obligation to return week after week – just come and link up whenever you want!

Hi Erin!
After doing this one, we decided to try Disneyland in California so we could go to Cars Land. My family loves Cars so it was amazing walking into Radiator Springs! I actually preferred Disneyland to Disney World – smaller, less crowds, different type of atmosphere.
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi!

Hi Najda!
Wouldn’t that be a funny coincidence if we were both there at the same time. We were a group of 11 with 2 strollers – it was a lot of fun!
Thanks for the collective birthday wishes! Mine is first up on Thursday!
