Oh no! We have reached the end of the Weekly Summer Link-Up. Some of you are already back in school – and my students are coming in on Wednesday. It is time to say goodbye to the link-up – but I want to say a quick thank you to everyone who participated throughout the summer. It is thanks to all of you that I have been keeping my blogging game up and running throughout the summer months. It has been fun getting to know you through all of your posts and I look forward to collaborating again in the future.
So, the FINAL topic is this…
Let’s get this started!
#1. Help my son learn to love school.
This little guy is the centre of our universe. He excels at sports, is super duper smart, is learning how to handle his Sensory Processing Disorder like a champ, and is the world’s best cuddle-er. He can waterski and wakeboard, loves to go fishing with his father and grandfather, and loves anything to do with carpentry and building. Summers, weekends and holidays are the best for him. Unfortunately, school interferes with all the things he loves to do.
My son does not like school. The words “does not like” are not strong enough for what my son feels about school – and we are somewhat at a loss to help him change his perspective. We have a whole team of people working with him to help him prepare for his re-entry this year… and we know it is difficult for him. I just wish there was an easy switch to flip in order to put the love of learning into his heart.
We have decided to put him into a new school to see if the change in environment will help give him the confidence he needs to feel comfortable at school. I just want him to come home from school with a great big smile on his face and tell me that he had a great day. We will keep working towards that from now until he graduates from high school.
#2. Travel
Having a daughter as a flight attendant has really opened my eyes to the world of travelling. I have always loved travelling and have done a fair bit of it in my 39 years – but after having my children, building a house, and working full time, my budget for personal travel has been greatly reduced! So, for the time being, I am living vicariously through my daughter. I love seeing her pictures from all around the world. My future plans include seeing more of this beautiful planet – and hopefully be able to do a lot of it with my husband and children.
#3. Reach the first TpT Milestone
I love creating teaching materials and posting them on TpT. I am working towards my first official milestone but I have a l-o-n-g ways to go! People who have already reached their first milestone say that the first one is the hardest one to attain. So, until the big day arrives, I will continue to make products that I can use in my class, keep updating this wonderful little blog, and continue networking and collaborating with teacher/ authors from all around the world.
Now, for one last time, it is your turn to add to the discussion. Click on the blue inlinkz button to add your post!
Thanks again for keeping me blogging this summer!
