Teaching a great class in an amazing school does have it’s perks! Welcome to Teacher Appreciation Week here at Joliette Elementary School! We are only day 2 of 5 and the teachers and staff of our wonderful little school are already being treated like royalty! Monday, we were treated to a delicious cheesecake prepared by Élisabeth’s mom, Isabelle. I am not ashamed to admit that I had 2 pieces (yes, it was THAT good!). Then this morning, the staff room was filled with goodies and coffee from Tim Hortons. Oh, our principal knows us so well! During the morning, each teacher had a wonderful bouquet of flowers delivered to her class with a very thoughtful note attached to it and just when we thought things couldn’t get any better, Marc-O’s mom came in the afternoon with Mme. Bouchard, president of the PPO committee, and presented each teacher with a ceramic plate signed by our students. Apparently this little surprise has been in the works since last Thursday. My little students are REALLY good at keeping secrets from me! I was completely surprised!
I want to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the JES PPO committee for everything they have done for us throughout this school year. As well, thank you to all the parents who encourage their children to study, to practice reading, and complete homework. Thank you to all the parents who support us teachers in our efforts both inside and outside of the classroom. Knowing that we are working together as a team is the best gift we can give your child.
Thank you all!
ps. Do you LOVE the plate as much as I do? Please take a minute to stop by Marc-O’s mom’s website. She is a fabulous artist and can custom make coffee cups, travel mugs, tote bags, plates, and much more to suit your needs!
